What is Lyme Disease?
Lyme disease is a tick-borne disease caused by bacteria Borrelia burgdoferi¹. The most common sign of infection is an expanding red rash, known as erythema migrans (EM), which appears at the site of the tick bite about a week afterwards²³. Other symptoms include fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans³. Lyme disease can be treated with antibiotics¹.
